1. RoDARS for Contractors Conducting Utility or Non-Utility Work - (2)

This new RoDARS Application form is for use by contractors working for members of the Toronto Public Utility Coordination Committee (TPUCC) such as Enbridge, Rogers, Bell, Toronto Hydro, Telus, etc. Utility maintenance work for Toronto Water and TTC are also considered as utility clients that must use this form. Companies doing work for Transportation Services, traffic signal maintenance should also be using this form.   Before applying for a permit or RODARS, all utility companies must have a pre-approved client code set up through the Utility Cut Permit group for the permit and billing process. 2. RoDARS for Contractors on Metrolinx Related Work

This new RoDARS Application form is for contractors and/or subcontractors requiring access to the right-of-way that are working on Metrolinx related projects that are being administered by private consortia’s in relation to: Rapid Transit ·       Eglinton Crosstown LRT ·       Finch West LRT ·       Durham-Scarborough BRT Subways: ·       Scarborough Subway Extension ·       Eglinton Crosstown West Extension ·       Ontario Line   Utility Contractors (ie members of the Toronto Public Utility Coordination Committee (TPUCC)) who are conducting work under contract with one of Metrolinx’s consortia delivering any of the aforementioned initiatives should also be using this form.

4. RoDARS for Contractors Conducting Work Under Contract with TTC

This new RoDARS Application form is for contractors or sub-contractors under contract with Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) directly that require access to close sidewalks, bicycle lanes or live lanes of traffic in support of the work.   For conditions and guidance specific to this application form (e.g., must use 2022 version of Ontario Traffic Manual (OTM) Book 7), click the Conditions button.   For information about RoDARS, click "About" and then "RoDARS FAQ".

Form 1 - Application for work initiated by Utility companies

This application is to be completed if the work is initiated by a Utility company and is being completed on assets that are Utility owned only. Examples include work being completed on behalf of utility companies such as Enbridge, Hydro, Bell, Rogers etc.
Fees:
  • Application Fee: $76.51 + HST (Expedited fee: $375.76 if within 3 business days)
  • Temporary closure of Expressway: $40.71 + HST per 50 metre per lane per day
  • Temporary closure of Collector Road: $7.63 + HST per 50 metre per lane per day
  • Temporary closure of Minor Arterial Road: $40.71 + HST per 50 metre per lane per day
  • Temporary closure of Local Road: $2.54 + HST per 50 metre per lane per day
  • Temporary closure of Major Arterial Road: $40.71 + HST per 50 metre per lane per day

Form 5 – City of Toronto Projects

This application is to be completed if the work is initiated by City of Toronto and is being completed on assets that are City owned or bundled. If the work consists only of transportation services assets, then please select the appropriate form.

RoDARS Form 1 CNIB Test

This application is to be completed if the work is initiated by a Utility company and is being completed on assets that are Utility owned only. Examples include work being completed on behalf of utility companies such as Enbridge, Bell, Rogers etc.

Fees:
  • Temporary closure of Expressway: $40.71 + HST per 50 metre per lane per day
  • Temporary closure of Collector Road: $7.63 + HST per 50 metre per lane per day
  • Temporary closure of Minor Arterial Road: $40.71 + HST per 50 metre per lane per day
  • Temporary closure of Local Road: $2.54 + HST per 50 metre per lane per day
  • Temporary closure of Major Arterial Road: $40.71 + HST per 50 metre per lane per day

Street Event

The following items must be submitted with your application: 1. A list of the scheduled events and a site plan showing the location, emergency lane (with dimension), setback and dimensions of any equipment or furniture placed within the public right of way 2. A copy of the Notice circulated to the area residents and occupants to inform them of the event 3. An Emergency Action Plan. Form available here. 4. A Traffic Management Plan. Applicant must arrange with a commercial supplier to provide traffic barricades and signs for the event. The barricades and signs must be placed in accordance with the specifications outlined in "Temporary Conditions" of the Ontario Traffic Manual Book No. 7 5. A Waste Management Plan approved by Solid Waste Management. Form and information available here. 6. A completed Release, Waiver and Indemnity form as participation will be required by an entrant or competitor in an event held within the road closure. 7. A non-refundable application fee Upon approval of your application, it will be necessary to: 1. Pay a permit fee and any additional costs required for closing of the street to hold the street event, which may include regulatory traffic changes, expressway closures and by-law enforcement staff. Payments can be made by Visa, American Express, MasterCard, Interac, or cheque. All cheques must be made payable to the Treasurer, City of Toronto. 2. Provide evidence of $2 million liability insurance with the City identified as an additional insured, or as required by the City

Warranty Form for ECS Work

For all warranty work, the Contractor is responsible for the full payment of RoDARS application fee and RoDARS temporary road closure fees. For more information on the applicable RoDARS fees, go to www.toronto.ca/rodars to better understand the impact of fees for potential warranty work. The application fee is paid online at the time of application submission and the temporary road closure fees will be invoiced to the Contractor after the approved RoDARS end date. The Contractor will not receive reimbursement from the City for these fees.
